I leave mine in economy all the time, unless I'm overtaking, than I put it in PWR, or if I'm going up a super gradient hill

Lol what a complete waste of time

+1, I find that....gee I dunno...pushing my foot down on the accelerator is usually the right thing to do when I need to overtake....probably take you longer to overtake with PWR mode on anyway because it"ll rev higher before you shift up gears.

Yeah mate power button on.

Put it into third and second if your towing down hill and need to slow down or stop.

I find it shifts down into 3rd far quicker in pwr mode. In econ it tends to bog down for a second and then shift down. Basically pwr mode is faster response with less throttle which means a faster and smoother overtake. That's how my old girl behaves anyway. For the later models with 4l60e it might not make as much difference

I use pwr to tow, I leave it in 3rd [D] at any speed below 100 and uphill, I only use 4 [OD] if it's a flat road and already doing 100 kmh where it's only used to maintain the speed with as little stress as possible on the trans.

as for the overtake debate.. i'm not sure how others overtake but i don't wait till i'm up the car infronts rear to put the foot down, will drop back a small distance and get a runup and the car is in 3rd and well on it's way by the time i pull out in eco mode.

makes no difference to the line pressure as that is regulated by the boost valve, the power button sole purpose is to change maps for the shift points for a more aggressive change, more responsive feel
