Weird problem , only when foot on accelerator, thers a faint/mediumly loud clack comming from either engine bay or under car, dad thinks it's a dead/cracked rocker, brother thinks exhaust leak... No idea what to do... Cheers MaT
well, its easy to rip the covers off and check the rockers, do that for a start, unless someone else knows what it could be, chuck the car up on stands and run the motor, look for exhaust leaks, prolly a bit had being a nice clean motor, maybe try in the morning when its frosty.
does it sound like piston slap? i know its not but jus trying to get a rough sound equivalent.. what grade oil u running?
When an exhaust manifold leaks it makes a sound like that. If it has gotten really hot a couple of times the pistons will slap too. Get a piece of garden hose and use it like a stethoscope to listen around the manifolds for a leak.
Got a whole in my driver side lukey extractor, where they weld the LUKEY plate onto it... Takin it down to local zorst place money for them to repair it. Cheers MaT
