Car runs just fine on LPG. I use petrol a little. Mostly when crusing home, the tacho would only be about 1500 RPM. Then petrol seems okay under low load. Yesterday, I went up a steep hill, and could only do 40 km/h - it was struggling. I swtiched back to LPG, and speed shot up to 70 km/h. It was not misfiring on petrol. The exhaust does not smell strange either. So I would suspect that fuel pump is knackered and can't deliver volume, or a sensor not used by LPG is bad, such as MAF. Any other possibilities?
I replaced the fuel filter, but it kept getting worse. I took it to a fuel injector service place, and they said injectors are okay, ya pump is kaput. That puzzled me, as I tought these in-tank fuel pumps died suddenly, rather than gradually choking. So I got a replacement fuel pump, and removed the old one. Well, the filter bag looked like a dog turd - it was completed coated in clay. Also the sender float, pipes and other bits had a beige coating all over them. I put on a cotton glove and stuck my fingers into the tank. Everything is coated with this cack. The tank was previously replaced by a dealer workshop because return hose was busted. Since new tanks are no more made, they had to get one from a wrecker. Well it must have been in some dusty ourback town, and the ######## mechanics didn't clean it out before fitting it. :hmmm:
Sounds like you have it sorted, but Check you intake pipes too. If you have had a backfire and it ripped the intake pipe or blown a vacuum hose off you will have trouble.
