hi all im rebuilding a VR v6 and im just wondering will ecotec pistons work in the buick motor?

Short answer; No.

Longer answer; not really no. - the piston compression height is too low. The gudgeon pin sits further up the piston towards the rings. I don't think compression wold be high enough for it to even fire.
