Ecotec serpintine belt size

got a vr with a ecotec in still has ac compressor what belt do these run mine flew off on a test run on highway cheers

I guess it should just be the standard Ecotec with A/C belt as there is another that's marked without A/C.

Yes they did change the sizing of the upper idler pulley that's located directly under the coil packs and the A/C compressor pulley along the way, so what actual pulley set up is crucial as you could easily have a engine from a VY and be using your original A/C compressor instead of the later unit. As such it would probably be best to utilise all the VS stuff as you'd more than likely have the earlier type A/C compressor which is what the VS had.

The belt is 6PK2720
I just did one on a VY during a service and it was 6PK2815. So as above you need to find out what car the engine came from.

That's only a starting point when engines are swapped out. Like I've said it's all about the pulleys used and which A/C compressor is fitted. All are interchangeable from model to model depending upon application.
