I am the proud and very happy owner of a 97 VSII commodore, V6 A4 with improved induction, extractors and exhaust... and tinted windows too

just bought an EFII '96 GLI Falcon sedan, got at bargain prices, got it for the missus.

got it in excellent conditon and I drove it around a bit today and was wondering... why are commodore owners so hostile to falcons?

it's a beauty to drive... steering's much lighter than my VS, and she's more relaxed and comfortable to drive..

my VS is quicker off the line, by a bit, but the falcon has a bit better in gear acceleration.

it's stock atm. but will develop it like i did my commodore...

in many ways they are so alike.. but they feel soo different....

    it's weird.. feels familiar

still prefer my VS, esp since ive worked on her for a bit... but the Falcon's an awesome drive too

the missus loves it (she prefers the VS too)

Why are Falcon owners so hostile towards Commodores? Who knows, but it's still a two way street.

commodores and falcons are both awesome cars, especially when bought second hand, and compared to other cars in their price range.. such as shitbox mitsubishis, daewoo, kia, hyundais and mazdas..

I personally detest lancers, and love thrashing the **** out of them at the lights.. my VS flew past a 2009 VRX with ease lol.

    I agree,

I have driven some pretty smooth Falcons in my time, and I don't mind them, I just gotta soft spot for both,

Pro's and Con's is always how any car buy plays the game

If some one had a nice EF/EL Fairmont or XR6, I wouldn't say NO, but just gotta some up the Value,

BOTH Aussie Built, both 6 cyclinder, 9 times out of 10 they are just as good as each other

Note: I HATE THE LOOK OF AN AU Falcon

Wow so proud, most likely the driver of the VRX was just going at a normal pace.

That or ever the VRX maybe 2.4L or a 2.0L, 4cyclinder

VS 3.8L .... I would hope to believe you have chance without trying

EFII 4.0L .... Again, if you didn't leave them in the dust, when you were Illegally Street Racing (not impressive) there would be something wrong

You Either A) Don't Like Your Missus B) Wan't her to break up with you, to save yourself the trouble or C) Subconsciously know the VS is better hence the reason you're driving it.

Personally if i wanted to break off the relationship with my Mrs, i couldn't think of a faster way of doing it than buying her a ford.

In all seriousness your question is like jumping on the taliban forums and asking why they don't like westerners

My girlfriend drives an EF II Futura. It hasn't done a head gasket while she's owned it but there always seems to be something wrong with it. The only thing I like is that it's pretty comfortable. I wouldn't swap my car for one but it's all personal preference I guess.

i drove my brothers EF falcon a few times. It always shocked me how much quicker that car was than my VX (i'd say thats because of weight and the fact its a straight 6), mechanically it seemed fine. Just everything else fell off of it, lol, seriously it was falling apart but it was always just cosmetic stuff, it still always drove great.

didn't say it was a STOCK VS... better induction, sports exhaust and extractors...

best time that i recorded to 100 was 7.7secs

if he didn't try to race he was revving the **** out of that engine for no reason.
