hey all,
as requested in my ss ute thread (http://forums.justcommodores.com.au/general/218377-daily-vy-s2-ss-man-ute-build.html), here is a quick copy paste snap shot of the past 3-4year build of my boosted ek civic...

i had ended up with this little sucker for a very small amount of money...
$500 with 2 weeks rego left & a burn valve...
originally it was for me to fix the head, clean it up & make some money...

DSCN1566.jpg

I found a set of wheels i had in the shed, and a cheap set of coils made there way under the guards...

DSC00095.jpg

but one morning some ###wit decided he would write off my bros silvia and damage my ek in one hit...
(cant find the pics)

once i spoke with my panel beater/spray painter, it was the civics turning point in life...

i decided to go to town on this car ...
i started off with a simple brake upgrade n rear disc conversion...
JDM ITR 96spec 4x114.3 all round

i stripped it inside out at home...

engine first
DSC00834.jpg

interior was guttered minus dash
(no pics)
front guards where thrown out as well as the front bumper, off to the panel beater she goes

a week later
2011-07-25114741-1.jpg

it sat this way for a good 9months...

then I get a random mms from a unknown number...
IMAG00121.jpg

since the car was damaged in the front and insurance was paying...
we had to "repair" n paint the rad support and the front chassis rails...

so i decided to paint the whole engine bay another colour...
i spent a couple of nights after work at the panel shop completely stripping the engine bay & getting it ready for paint...
IMG_99581.jpg

then i spoke with the painted and explained the colour i wanted and the look i was after...
i left it in his hands and prayed the colour would be right...
then i get another mms while at work..
teaser pic..
IMG_97051.jpg

from work i went straight there...
when i saw the complete bay, i fell in love...
IMG_28771.jpg

next on the list was the car, the painter was so excited he was doing something different to insurance repairs, just in and out work...lol
he was trying to convince me in painting the car another colour..
i wasnt convinced and prefered the factory colour

again, i rec'v another mms while at home one late evening...8pm
the shell, doors & front guards ready from paint

black base coat...

freshly baked the next morning...

at this stage i was in 2 minds where the car was going... show car, street car, track car...
i'v always had a passion for FWD drag racing...

i love boosted B-series & without putting a budget on this car i thought ### it, lets go all out...

at this stage i decided to put an order in for a B-series race block from DART USA...

i also ordered a set of BC racing coilovers with custom spring rates (F10kgs, R12kgs)
i also ordered ASR, blackworx lca's, skunk2 pro series front camber arms, hardrace toe n camber for the rear...
2011-10-09215343.jpg

while i was on a roll, i also ordered a front & rear strut brace, front tie bar, & C-pillar bar
i got a good second hand interior carpet from the wreckers as my original one was ###ed,
and also sourced a cheap set of AP1 S2K seats in black (it took me a good 1hr... per seat to make work in fit, but the time n effort was well worth it)
2011-12-21180824-1.jpg

and realising the new stud pattern & path the car will be taking, i asked my good mate chris (works at HONDA spare parts) to find me a good set of wheels for my ek @ 16x8 +35 4x114.3
he came up with these brand new genuine evo regamaster
600x450-2010022100013-2.jpg

i get the car home and start slowly cleaning things and putting it all back together, with so much care, the last thing i wanted was to scratch the ###er...lol

for some reason i worked backwards...lol & started at the rear end...
i had sorced myself a set of pre-face ek9 tailights, brand new OEM number plate surround and brand new bumper bar moulds
2011-10-21162947.jpg

the front wasnt done yet, but this is sorta an idea of wat the colour schem looks like...
and as u can see, i was still working on my upgraded brake conversion...

now that i had my mind set on drag racing, i realised that maybe my 96spec itr calipers wont be up to scratch...
so i went and got myself a front pair of CRV calipers and brand new DBA prelude discs to suit...
cheap but effective brake upgrade...

i did a paint reco on all four calipers and had the rear discs machined up, and when i put them all together i slotted some bendix ultimate pads in the front and some normal bendix pads in the rear...

i also sourced a ek gli rear discs prop valve and from the JDM ITR wreck i had, i kept n used the BMC & BB...
i found some ADR approved braided brake lines in the UK too...
2011-11-01162028.jpg

i mounted the regas on some new tyres...195/45 nankangs (for now)
2011-11-06132306.jpg

had my bro and a mate come over and help me install the stock D-series (didnt want to scratch the bay, so the towels came out)
i had prepared for racing, so avid engine mounts & avids solid torque mounts were a must...
2011-11-13214406.jpg

2011-12-11171423-1.jpg

did an eye wheel alignment to get the car rolling and to see some sun...

during this whole car painting, building process, i had managed to score some goodies at a very very cheap price:
a spooling performance short ram manifold, dump pipe, screamer pipe, & intercooler kit...
matched with a gt3582r and a 44mm tial gate it will look like this...
2011-11-17220710.jpg

and since i had the itr wreck available, i kept the gearbox n gave it a freshen up, and sent the head away for some cleaning and work...
brian crower stage3 NA cams, as well as double valve springs, titanium retainers, stainless valves, and new OEM valve guides
internally i have ordered:
cp pistons @ 11.1 comp,
manley rods rated at 800hp,
a standard OEM head gasket,
arp head studs,
ERL 5point girdle, &
moroso sump
