Electric Seats (With Memory)

Hey Dudes,

Does anyone know what would be involved in fitting the 3 memory electric seat panel into my VXII Calais.

Alot of ppl drive the car and moving seats is starting to get to me.

Appreciate the help.

Being a Calais it should already have the seat memory / climate settings for each key. I don't think you can upgrade the BCM to accomadate for more people.

Is the wiring there for me to put in a Calais power seat into my MY06 SS?

Check my wiring diagram in this thread & compare it to what you have. I'm pretty sure that the "memory" seat you want to put in still only has the 2 wires coming out (not including the airbag wires) - as the memory function stuff is inside the seat itself, not the BCM etc.

I should add - the part that IS in/contolled by the BCM is the Calais/Stato "Priority Key" system (remembers things like seat position, radio, headlight delay, etc) but of course this has nothing to do with the seat electrics which like i said is contained within the seat (excepting of course the circuit breaker in the fuse panel, which is present on all VT/VX models).

The fact there are only 2 wires to connect (+12V and GND) is why even the "poverty pack" VT/VX models have a power driver's seat using only a "low series" BCM (albeit a more simple system than the Calais/Stato 8-way seats).

Well I am bidding on some old vt Calais seats atm on e bay - am planning on stripping them and converting my SS sports seats to power - it's the memory function that I really want.

Like I said, if I win the seats I'll post up the full procedure for the conversion.
