You cant just plug and play with a stato dash harness because the buttons for the air con ,heated rear window are different from a exec.Statos have climate control instead of the button for it on the dash and they have a security led in its place. It is far better to get the stato harness and strip off all the wires from no 4 connector and mode switch and connect them to your original harness ...about 10 wiring tee connections. In that way if you take the l3 dash out later to sell the car or whatever ,the old stuff like the speed alert and old dash will just plug straight back in.

There is an auto electrician in Penrith (Peachtree) who has done the mod, for just over $200 if the parts are provided to him.

I can chase up copntact details if you would like.

ive wired three lvl 3 dash clusters now and I strongly recommend you get the switches, wiring and the cluster to suit your exact model.

you will find from model to model the three rear plugs will have variants in the wiring causing more changes needed and the trip switch will be an absolute nightmare if you try a different model. The first one i done was with the same series stuff and everything just went from colour to matching colour, however when doing another model the parts that were supplied to me had major wiring differences like the dome light and the wipers were completely different with the switch not even having the wiring needed to complete the task.

the plug was wired different causing the trip switches wires to be in the wrong spot where the dome light wires were ment to go.

its a relativly easy task but i thaught id share my previous experiences to help sourcing the right parts
