Has anyone had an issue with their electronic steering?

Mine has had an issue the last few week where it is really hard to turn the steering wheel. On Sunday it was awful in the morning then the rest of the day it was fine. This morning it was notchy. It's more of an issue at low speeds where it is hard to turn then all of a sudden it is light and then is hard again. It was fine up until I decided to switch to Competition mode, now it's a pain in the ass.

Yeah the fluids are ok. I checked the tyre pressure as well, thinking it might be that but as soon as it started going notchy I knew something was wrong. Think I'll have to book it in for Holden to look at it.
Do you think they might try and shift the blame to the coilovers I had installed a while ago?

To change to competition mode you hit the traction control button twice. Then what happens is you see a picture of a car skidding off the road come up on your dash. Then your steering fails and your car actually goes skidding of the road.

ss dosnt have this mode.

it depends whats gone wrong. dealers are not out to dodge work, warranty work makes them money too.
if a steering componant has failed it will be fixed. if it WAS caused by something you have done then possibly you wont be covered but i dont see how coilovers would do anything, i have them and i wouldnt expect any unexpected wear on steering

I was told by Sutton's Holden that they hadn't heard of any steering rack issues yet. When I went to pick up my rental car that Holden had organised, they said that they had an HSV owner in yesterday and his had same issue. Wonder if it will be another recall?
