Hi guys, i know this has been done to death but ive been searching for 2 days to try and figure this out, we picked up a VR BT1 for my partner for a bargain ($2800!), so as is to be expected there are a few problems, i have fixed most but this damn heater issue is frustrating! i have a max ellery service manual (crap imo), i know there is supposed to be a vacuum tank in the drivers side wheel well, but there isnt one there! car has aftermarket front bar so has probably had a knock in the front at some stage. the heater blows on feet only, and its always warm, or hot, the temp controls allow it to go from hot to hotter. there are 2 vac lines in the engine bay but i have no idea where they are supposed to terminate! the manual is no help and i cannot seem to find diagrams on the net or any threads explaining all of this. pictures are attached to illustrate. i appreciate any help!

The vacuum reserve tank is under the passenger side front guard,up in behind the front bumper,it looks like a black plastic ball.

Locate the vac ball as Brett says and then trace the line from there...from the look of it both hoses should join at a "T". And welcome to the forum.

So both hoses are supposed to go in to the vac ball? wouldnt the system be vacum control valve -> heater switch and the vent system to the vac ball? as in two different systems?

The first or top pic looks like it could be the heater tap vacuum line.

from TB elbow to one way check valve or filter then tee peice which goes into the dash somewhere round the middle of the firewall and to the vacuam ball then theres another one coming out the firewall to the heater tap
