Engine check light

My issue is car goes great but when I put my foot down to pass a car the engine check light comes on and the car starts to shudder you stop turn car off then back on cars good as again driving me crazy can anyone help

Ls1 or ecotec?


If it’s the ls1-ls3....a common mishap with the ls series is the knock sensor/Welch plug/s under the intake manifold either wears out and becomes faulty or gets knocked about from the heat off the block and forces the sensor to under volt and throws the check engine light....because it’s not giving the ecu the correct signals it will go into limp mode/run like **** until you restart the ecu or replace the knock sensor that’s buggered.
