VE Omega Sportswagon
Hello all.
I have been lurking for a while and picking up lots of really good tips.

I recently put my VE up for sale and I thought that I'd put in half a tank of 98 to make it run a bit sweeter. After a week or so the car started running really badly (idled really rough, engine check light on and stability control warning light on(what's that about?)). I disconnected the battery (no help) and wasn't sure what to do. I had, the previous week, loaned my OBDII to my postie so I couldn't plug it in to see what was up. Anyway, in desperation, I filled the tank with 91 and the problem was solved. I had heard that the high octane petrols went off quite quickly (six weeks or so), but a week? The car then ran fine and the test drives proceeded well and I sold the car.
I've now got a VF Calais Sportswagon and I love it. The VE had better steering though.

No - my postie still has the OBDII reader and the car is now gone.

My 2010 Calais wagon v6 just stopped when I was driving down the highway, never ever had any previous issues. I got a traction warning and then 30 mins later the engine light came on and it just cut out. I’m just about to get it towed and I obviously didn’t want to try start it again.
Thoughts please??

Mine never cut out, just ran rough. Have you had a recent tank of fuel? Can you refill the tank to dilute what might be bad fuel in the tank - that's what I did (I didn't drain the tank).

FYI, you can not drain or siphon a Fuel Tank on VE, you have to pump it out, or drop it with what you have in it.
I had to do it twice to drop the tank, due to a fuel pump issue,
because it would of been as heavy as _____ to drop it with 3/4 tank of fuel,
and 1/2 tank the second time.

I think I had a bad batch of fuel from United, it ran like a dog, but filled it up with 91 elsewhere, it ran ok.
