Pls be more specific when saying it just cuts out :p
were you just starting the car up first thing in the morning?
were you just driving normally down the street?
were you hammering it TLGP style?
was there any noises from exhaust/engine area before it cut out?
have you had a service recently?

Yeah, same prob also - water does the trick 99% of the time :) holden quoted me $110 for the sensor, on ebay they go for $40. Im not sure whether its the cam+crank sensor but either sensor is about $110 to replace :(

I know this may sound stupid, however if what was mentioned earlier does not help. Is your key damaged at all? I had a little chip off the top of my key and suffered the same symptoms as you. Car would start fine, then randomly turn off. Replaced the key and haven't had any issues since.

My keys fine, same with the spare which is is even better condition. But ive been told if tipping some water over the sensor fixxes it 99% of the time when its having trouble starting, 99% sure its gonna be the sensor... which so happens to be a more expensive replacement :(
