engine fault code

Fault code comes up it does 1 s pace then 2 but the fault light stays on any help

then the car is flashing 12 >> that means no fault codes

it probably has a stored fault code which needs to be cleared by a tech2, but it isn't experiencing the fault anymore thus "no faults" on startup.
