Engine Light keeps coming on

It only randomly comes on (not consistant) when driving up a hill when the car changes down gear (it's an auto), only when doing 80 - 100 km/h. Any suggestions as to what may be causing it?!? :unsure: Did a codes check and code 68 came up, Transmission Component Slipping.

Grab a paper clip and run the fault code check and work from there.

At first thought I would guess low on oil and/or a blocked oil pickup, but who knows, more thorough testing may give an answer, or literally a dozen other things.

Did that & got 3 flashes 3 time's then 6 flashes & 8 flashes 3 time's, what do u reckon that code is?

same thing happened to me it ended up just being a bust knock sensor.

interesting, odd readout, 36 is a vacum leak as for the 8 ?

68 Transmission component slipping, got me, time to show Mr GM

This code usually indicates the transmission is slipping...
there is a revised Memcal released for VR to stop this code falsely logging but i think in this case there is a problem with the trans.

Funny thing is when my trans blew (no second or third) i didnt get any powertrain check lights come on. It was slipping and shuddering for months before.
