Hey guys i just done my head gaskets on my 02 vx v6 3.8lt commodore. Everything was running fine until last night i was driving along and my engine light has come on i only done the gaskets 3 days ago also. Anyway i didnt notice any power loss in the engine but when i turn the engine off and start again the light dont come back on unless i drive it for around 30 to 40 mins.

Any help would be great thanks..

By far the easiest thing to do first is use a scan tool. Most mechanics have one, usually costs about $50. That said, you can buy a basic one for about $100. If you want to go buy one, look at the Launch CReader, they've worked well for me. If you're paying a mechanic, go somewhere that knows what they're doing. You want the code number and description.

or for free you can swipe a paper clip from work and use that to see what fault code is set.
