wh Caprice 5.7L V8
I have a WH Caprice (V8) and need to change the engine mounts. Is it worthwhile to pay the extra and get the genuine mounts which I think are hydraulic or will after-market rubber ones be just as good?

I would appreciate any feedback.

Thanks,

Kerry

Can get aftermarket hydraulic items too.
Holden quoted me ~$180 each for my VX. I bought Mackay branded hydraulics for $80 each. Well, on the box at least it says they're hydraulic.

How they compare I can't really tell you. I've got some small amount of harshness now coming through the car that I didn't have before, but at the same time I changed the mounts I had the whole k-frame out and the sump off, still trying to diagnose that.

Factory genuine may last 10 year's.
Aftermarket may last 7 year's depending on driving habbit's.

Just have to weigh up both cost's.
Work out wich is more economical.

I'd go aftermarket. For the cost.
Never had an issue.
