Engine mounts OEM hydraulic gel or solid rubber

Hi

I need to install new engine mounts in the VS V6 wagon after 16 years and 250k's.

I did a search and info was time consuming to find.

I have a choice of the OEM or Aftermarket hydraulic gel filled type or solid rubber type.

Pedders make both under there their brand name.

Which mount type is better hydraulic gel filled type or solid rubber type ?

Which is longer lasting ?

Go OEM or aftermarket ?

Just put in the same as what is in your car now, if they lasted 16 years why bother going for anything else!

Yeah I was thinking that, but there is always new stuff coming that may be better.

The solid rubber performance maybe comparable to hydraulic with longer life ?
Possibly outlast the vehicle.

I would appreciate feedback from members running the solid rubber.

Not that it is the same car, but I owned an EF which came with hydrolic mounts and most people said to use solid rubber ones as replacements (Ford went back to them for the EL).

Personally i'd stick with the genuines and avoid the solid rubber type. Have seen a few V6's develop unwanted engine vibes through the car as a result of this as they don't dampen as well.

If your car is stock go with stock engine mounts. They will last you a while anyway.
