hey guys. ive noticed recently my car is making a weird sorta sqeaking noise.
it sounds like one of the pulley things at the front as that is where the noise is coming from.

anyone know anything i could give a go. i was thinking maybe have it running and spray some wd-40 on them and try eliminate the noise.:w00t:
i anyone knows what it could be or a way i could work it out. id appreciate it. cheers.

take the belt off and rotate the pulleys by hand, one of them (bottom center) is the crank you wont be able to turn that by hand, listen for sounds and feel for wierd movement

If it's intermittent or ticking, it may well be the tensioner too.

hey guys. i just went out and had another look at the car.. the weird thing is it wont make the noise until the car is warm(say 20 minutes) then i can hear it . it sounds like it is coming from the power steering pulley. would i be able to pull of the pulley and then attack behind it with grease or is there a special way to do it.. cheers

The power steering pulley runs through a bush in the pump. The fluid lubricates it. If it sounds like it's coming from that, I would put money on the tensioner, it's right next to it.

Unless you're sure its the tensioner, then you need to get another one. I never heard people repairing belt tensioners. Normally they just get replaced with a new one. Unless its the bearings in the tensioner thats making the noise then I'm sure you can just replace the bearing bit.

the bearing is kind of "built in" to the tensioner, its a groove int he actuall pulley filled with ball bearings, you could remove the face plate, replace the ball bearings, regrease them and replace and seal the plate, i'd just go spend $20 on a new one.
