Hi, all what engine oil do you use for your v6s? I heard castrol magnatec 10w/ 40 is a popular one.

If it were mine I’d use penrite hpr10, do a search of this site and you’ll find countless threads on what oil people run in their cars

My vy only has 113,000kms. Would it be better just for a 10w/40 or is it old enough now for a thicker oil?

What if your car doesn't have this magical book? After all, the VY is 16 years old and books seem to disappear with this length of time
Or if you have a VZ book since they are the same shape, and people tend to think the differences are minor. This happened to me. I had a VS book and I own a VR. All I wanted at one point was the belt routing diagram but VS routing is nothing like a VR....

Then you get people saying to you,, "the VR is just the same as a VS apart from the engine"? No people the VS has a wod of differences and not just a different donk.... hahahaha
