More cars than I've got space to park!
That should be a late VS / early VT 304ci sequential injection roller block, can't remember for sure but I don't think they were relieved.

It wasn't until later in the VT's that the 355ci stroker engines appeared, I believe they had a "VP*****" prefix.

Someone will no doubt correct me if I'm wrong!

You are wrong. 355ci stroker engines appeared in the VR HSV GTSs and some HSV VR Senators.

HSV strokers motors aren't 355ci either, they are 350ci.
As for engine prefixes, VT era 304's are either VM, VN if 195i and HSV VP 220i

I believe 94 onwards, all 304 blocks are relieved enough to take stock I-beams on a 3.48" stroke.
H-beam may require further clearance.
