okay guys, don’t vomit when you see what’s under my rocker covers..

I am buying a new engine for my 2008 SV6, due to this being the state of my current engine. I’m wanting to rebuild it, as well as cleaning the secondhand engine i’m getting of all sludge and build up inside. any tips on what to use when physically cleaning it out? kero? degreaser? steel wool/pipe cleaners/normal rag?

This is your current engine, which you will rebuild?

Unfortunately not an uncommon problem normally due to poor service history coupled with extended factory service intervals and suspect PCV system which all adds up to a recipe for disaster.

yep i’ve seen quite a few with this exact problem. definitely going to create a better breather system for the drivers side bank in the secondhand one i’m getting
