id have a look at the fuel pump or coil packs.
it will be either of the 2.

HI
I had the same problem with my VT a couple of years ago. This faulty sensor heats up and the computer doesnt spray fuel into the cylinder because the sensor its telling it not to, not sure what the sensor is called but its at the front of the engine, , but after you have the car turned off for around 10 minutes it starts again, am I correct?
Took it to Holden dealer to fix it. They 'fixed it', but it did the same thing on the way home right in the middle of peak hour traffic in the middle lane, plus my wallet was lighter by $350.
Took the car to a Holden specialist service centre, they put it on Tech2 and found the the problem was with this sensor which tells the computer when to spray fuel in the cylinder according to what position the cylinder or crankshaft is(not sure which one and cant remember it exactly as it was 2 years ago now). They charged me $200 to replace the faulty sensor (was faulty due to wear and tear). Been servicing my car there all the time since then. Apparently this sensor needs replacing on the VT's when they reach around 200 000k's due to wear and tear.
I hope this will help you track down the problem as it sounds liek the problem I had.

Hi there

My VT Calais had similar problems 7 years ago. Would stall at the most inconvienent times - in the middle of busy intersections, going into round abouts. After taking it to 3 Holden dealers, another so call well known car repair (and over $1000 spend with no return), and making a mess of my front passenger mag and sideskirt, I ended up taking it to a local performance place who had the car for 6 weeks but nutted out the problem. They replaced the oxygen sensors and haven't had a problem with stalling since - just every other VT jinx - Ignition falling apart, ABS module dying etc...

Holdens plugged it up to the computer but I can't remember what the error code was - but when they replaced that bit it did nothing.

Friends of ours with a VS also had similar problem and replaced their Oxygen sensors as well. All good for them as well

Hope this helps.

I'm wondering, is there a fuel filter in these models and how would one know where to look for the fuel filter or if the filter has been changed during servicing?

It sounds like a blocked fuel filter can starve the car of fuel from low fuel pressure, which can look a bit like a faulty fuel pump. Can anyone shed a light on this?
