hey just wanted to know what exhaust system to get on a VY II Berlina V6 3.8L. I'm more going for engine tone rather than performance. Not saying i wouldnt mind it. I heard pacemaker was good. i am working on a tight budget as i am still a P plater so cheap but good is preferable. Would the headers/extractors be better for engine note or the muffler itself? i know both together would be good but what one should i get first?
Extractors themselves don't do much for the exhaust note at all. The rest of the system is what quietens it down. Put on a 2 1/2" cats back system and it will make it louder for sure. Bugger all power gain, but it's a start for future mods as funds allow. Extractors later, better intake, hi ratio rockers. All will benefit from the exhaust you do first. And your username doesn't give off many good vibes dude.
If i was you yeah i'd say a 2.5'' cat back..and if you want a bit more of a louder note get a hotdog system installed through the muffler...
