engine warning light but no limp mode

any ideas what would cause the engine warning light to come on but not put car into limp mode? all i did was turn a corner, brake lights work, indicators work any ideas would be great, thanks

Get the diagnostic trouble code scanned and the system will tell you what it thinks is wrong... then you can progress towards a fix...
