sensor was fouled up with oil so gave it a good scrub but the light is still coming on

i read somewhere that a knock sensor isnt essential and i could just get someone to burn off that part of the ecu

any advice would be greatly appreciated, hate seeing that engine light

thanks

Not an expensive part. Lots on fleabay and it's easy enough to replace. I'd do that. More work to get the memcal altered and (I don't know this but) I would have thought you could damage your motor running without the knock sensor

Yeah it's a cheap part, i had a similar problem with mine, the white wire with a pink stripe that comes off the knock sensor had burnt off. Follow that wire and have a look for any splits etc.
