Hi, Does anyone know whether it is safe to put ethanol enhanced fuel into a vy?? I went to holden and asked them whether it was safe and no one knew :bang: cheers, Drew
I heard recently that all major car companies have agreed that the use of Ethanol fuels at 10% or lower are ok in all modern cars are will not void your warranty. As the fuel delivery systems in these cars can handle Ethanol but the same can not be said for older cars. Ethanol fuels have been used overseas for many years with great success.
apparently there is a website which tells you which cars are suitable for ethanol but i can't find it does anyone know what it is?? or know if it actually exists? thanks again.
I think 89 and upwards I tired it in my daily runner a mogna and even thou it was ok to use in it but it didn't like it too much I seemed to use more fuel for some reason even thou it's meant to run cheaper.
my previous car was an 86 celica and i put the ethanol enhanced fuel in it, it ran better than normal and had better fuel economy but this car is a bit more expensive than the celica and i don't really want to take any chances....
You'll probly find ethanol is fine for most cars. It was just the government putting into every1s head that it was bad, as they weren't making any tax on it. And like sheep, most of the general population believed it. . . . .
