http://www.news.com.au/dailytelegraph/story/0,22049,21306779-5006009,00.html im so glad i live in queensland.
Doesn't he have to obtain federal government permission for such an act? I remember he wasn't well liked when he first came in, so actions like this will only go to reinforce the feelings
i dont have a problem with it, be a menace and pay the penalty, your only impressing yourself cause i dont give a stuff the thing i think is silly is banning for sales signs in cars
lucky im in vic, and im sure people will figure a way to get the clamps off.... may take a while but people will figure it out... and how the hell does for sale signs have to do with drag racing? ive never heard of the guy before but he sounds like an idiot......
For Sale setups in Vic that show a price are banned. I think they want to stop it on moving cars all together, same with stickers. From what i heard at a meeting the other day stickers on car exceeding certain sizes and placed in "blindspot" areas will be seen as a major defect.
In addition, Mr Iemma said he would investigate outlawing the practice of “for sale” signs on vehicles, for fear it was street code for drag-racing. hahahha. and my broken keyring holden transponder key means im a veteran racer/ driver? its a street code!
i've always been told that those for sale stickers were for chapel st ****s to pick up chicks, sort of a "like my sik VL? call me!" kind of thing
actually, to be honest, i went out with my brother's friend in her riced-to-the-maxed vectra with cannon, she was noting tons of 4-sale numbers and pranking them to find out where she could score and etc. but drag-racing, hmmm, i see 4-sales on alot of ricers, how did they magically come to the conclusion they were drag-racing, seriously..
they probably have enough cars in the impound lots with stickers on them to say "these people with for sale stickers are drag racing" so they just assume. really, theyre prolly randoms thrashing their car before they sell it for something else.
if they clamped my wheels in my driveway id like to see them stop me from destroying their clamp...then i would hand deliver it in peices to wherever it came from...**** em! and for sale meaning drag me?? wtf what crap!
for all the people outside of NSW, we are having an election in 22 days and this is just another one of the anti-p-plater laws Iemma is planning to introduce, in order to win votes of key seats. See the thing is, P platers are between 17 and 20, and a fairly good percentage of them (us) don't vote. therefore he can say whatever he wants against us and nobody gives a ****. except the people who think we all are a menace (the voting public) so it all works well for him. Peter Debnam (the opposition leader) has actually raised some good suggestions to stop P-Plater deaths. however it is very very unlikely he will win, therefore Commodore driving P platers of NSW - expect the clamps
if you are 18+ and dont vote you are a dick head. (this is a reply to your comment, not aimed at you personally)
totally agree with you. i plan to vote (the little good it will do - i am in a strong labor seat so voting against labor will do bugger all), but a lot of my mates can't be bothered and i don't really blame them, especially with our current situation in NSW where its basically lose-lose. I'm just hoping that once Iemma gets re-elected that he does what most politicians do and forget all their election promises. Well not all, just the ones aimed at me
that is perfectly fine in my opinion, but on what grounds are they going to be clamping cars? complaints? I sure hope not... so many people will complain about a car just because they dont like it or because its being driven by someone young. If that is enough to get your wheel clamped in the driveway then god help the phone answering monkeys who have to field calls from those people... Again I am glad I am not in NSW... not that it would affect me unless the above applied...
