ex cop vz interior light, how to restore to normal operation?

We have a VZ ex cop (SA) the interior light only comes on with the button on the console, I know the door switches have cable ties on them to stop them making contact, also the fuse is replaced with a wiring loom and plug ,
How do I return it to normal operation?
I have cut the cable ties and put a normal fuse in , but still no go............

This diag. is for a VT, VX, VY. - doesn't appear to be particularly informative.
