just wandering what is the reason for my exhaust droning in hot weather? and is their any way to stop this.. my friend said install a thermo on it which will stop it but i really dont know what this is.
Also.. i have the stock exhaust... im almost thinking about putting that back on instead of my red back as even a slight amount of drone can annoy me... could i perhaps mix mufflers with the two exhausts and would this decrease some of the drone but keep it at a nice note? if not ive been suggested to get a chambered muffler on this forum........

The exhaust note changes when hot because the flow characteristics change. It will flow a bit faster and the exhaust expands slightly as well. Do you have a rear resonator? If not, put a perf tube hotdog on the rear. If you have, then the only way to change the note is to change the front muffler to a different design, I have a chambered front muffler and a hotdog on mine and it doesn't drone.

hi i just went down to the exhaust shop and he rekns putting a chambered muffler in the front would loose a bit of power... he did suggest putting sound dampening material in the boot, which should help as that is a large cavity... do you think this would work? i went to bunnings and they only had the acoustic deadening stuff that you put in your walls... maybe this would work?

    many thanks

I would imagine the slight power loss from a chamber muffler would be negligent. Not anything you would notice I dont think

I doubt that you will notice any difference in power because of the chambered muffler.

You may find you actually gain a bit of bottom end.
