    Hey guys,

I have a HSV XU6 and it has a stock HSV twin exhaust system. I was wondering whether removing the mufflers in the middle would make a difference, So it would be like a cat back straight system.... I will still keep the resenators at the end.
My objective is to acheive a nice tone without any loss of power.
    If i remove it:
would it be too loud and/or illegal? (EPA)
Would it have any effect on power? (increase/decrease)
Is it safe to do so? (will it blow my engine?)

    Any advice would be appreciated....
    thanks guys

From what I've read so far on exhausts, it seems that the fit system seems to be the best compromise of power vs noise. They have system that seems new, and goes from the cats back to a single 3 inch pipe. They also have a new pipes that go from the exhaust headers, ( you have to weld on your own cats) that give a big increase in power. They state on their website that that section of the super6 exhaust is the most restrictive part.

The other part of the exhaust to consider for 6's both sc and na is the drone you get from the exhaust when cruising.

The noise will only be a problem if you put on some hotdog or crazy muffler. You will get bigger power gains from a smaller pulley for the supercharger for less anyway.

And if you are interested in flogging off your old exhaust or at least part of it, I'm in need of a cat for one of my pipes to get me out of trouble
