Just wondering what kind of exhaust system would be the best for a 98 VT Acclaim because I'm looking to get rid of my stock one and get a new one.

What kind of ones should i be looking for? Help is greatly appreciated :)

Head down to supercheap and get a Lukey cat back

Stolen from another thread:

$120 for the cat and center muffler section
PART # AL5-5712

$40 for the tail pipe section (no rear muffler)
PART # T5713

Also if you want extractors check out the ones on ebay for $330, free delivery. Ill be getting them sooner or later too when I get around to it.

Apart from that a tip and tats the whole system done.

You can bolt on the cat back your self, extractors Id expect to pay anywhere from $150-200+ to have fitted at a exhaust shop.

Just for comparison sake.

I've been doing a bit of ringing around etc for quotes for a full system for a 5.0L V8.

I've been quoted $2950, $2600 and another $2600 ish.

Systems have been pacemaker headers, high flow cats and twin cat backs in mild steel.

I was pretty shocked by the prices of these, but seems to be the norm so far.
Still got some more ringing around to do though.

Bit more description mate lol

V6 or V8?
Are you just looking for a replace or an upgrade?
If upgrade, what are you looking to gain from it? Looking more for a sound than performance?

Just got another quote back, just under 2k for apparently a full xforce system in stainless steel.
Anyone know if these are any good? Or is it worth spending the extra $$ to get a pacemaker system?

I cant find a pacemaker system for my car online, but I've had quotes from local workshops for the pacemakers.
You dont have anyone that you can recommend that does these online ? or are you talking about a local workshop also?
