I'd have to agree with Airstrike, as my car used to have a single 3in, and it sounded droney (with a standard cat, not hi flow or hollowed out) then i got my twin 2.5in, and it was the best money i ever spent.

Airstrike really only said 'he's yet to hear a good sounding 8 with a single system'

    I'd agree with that.

Although, as said, twin 2.5 in is a little overkill for a stock 5l, however, with the little bit of backpressure you lose, you gain a sound that can't be topped with an NA car. Personally the gains i got when i changed systems, was definatly noticeable, in all driving (hot/cold) and if anything, my low end torque was increased.

hmm, lets see, a simple thread about exhaust note etc...then you almost wrote a book about what headers and extractors do/mean...way too technical for us dude...

"having a discussion"....sounded a bit "heated" and "aggressive" i thought...

perhaps i was aggressive myself in labelling you two "nobs" but i think many would agree it seemed like it was getting to a childish level of "i know more than you...", but it worked in getting you two to stop your bickering....think about that.

If you put pacemakers on it it will take some of the lump out because tri-y headers seperate the exhaust pulses a bit

Well any tri-y's for that matter. But Pacey's have less restriction in them.

Why is everyone telling us to settle down? I don't have a problem with Not_An_Abba_Fan, I value his imput. We have differing opinions, so what.
Good to see an adult conversation so if you don't like it maybe leave since this is the VN/VP section:p

Yeah I can honestly say mine didn't loose any down low, but I did go and speak to the experts. The boys I see have always looked after me. Mine has twin hi flow mettalic cats then the balance pipe, then a hot dog per pipe finally into a twin in twin out rear muffler. No drone, no crackling, just smooth V8 heaven!

here's a little thro in. cheapest op i reacon since we are talkin about 2nd year is Hot dog. Would give a bit of back pressure to help with low pressure.
cant imagine it costing over 100 bucks.

throw in the hotdog for the cheapest opt. put it midway to get rid of drones and smooth out the bark. But make sure to install it the right way round.
