I'd like to add some light to the side of my ute for when i unlock it at 1am and cant see the mud, puddles, land mines etc. I was thinking just some white led strips under the sideskirts.

Easiest option would be to just tap into the reverse lights i suppose.

A better option would be to plug it in to where the puddle lights would, but do the non calais etc models come with the same plug? Googling tells me the calais etc plugs have 5 wires (for the puddle lamps and heated mirrors) but the other models only have 3 wires.

Had time to pull the door time off today. There is a 6 pin plug (5 wires) going to the mirror. Might have to find a wiring diagram to sort the colours.

Multimeter or Circuit Tester will do the trick to find the correct wires.
