Hey I don't know a great deal about cars, which is why im asking this question. Im looking at these extractors which says the following:

1 5/8 primary pipes and 2 inch secondary pipes

What are the primary pipes and what are the secondary pipes? And also I'm thinking about buying a 2 1/2 exhaust of some sort. Will the exhaust fit properly to the extractors? Any suggestions as to what brand/type of exhaust to get?
    Thanks

    Chris

Primary pipes are the pipes that run off each cylinder on the manifold, which then combine to become the secondary pipes.

A 2.5" exhuast will fit fine, i'd go with Lukey if you're just after something basic.

What brand are the extractors, whats your budget?

Oh yeah...ahh they were some MPH brand or something. But in the meantime I've found some second hand Genie ones. How much would i be looking at for new extractors? I've heard that pacemakers were the best, but then I've also heard that your pretty much paying an extra couple of hundred for brand name and that they're pretty much the same as other brands. What would you recommend?

There are only 2 brands i'd go for mate, Pacemaker or Advance. Others will also reccomend HM.

Pacemaker easily have the best build quality, and will outperform cheap headers such as the ebay ones, Lukey, Wildcat etc. I would spend the money and get the Pacemaker competition headers, but you're looking at $600 fitted.

Advance will offer the same performance gains as Pacemaker with perhaps a slightly lower build quality, but you can pick them up for about $450 fitted.

Genie are a good brand, but i'd check the condition of the headers and how much they are asking. Dont forget they still need to be fitted. No warranty either.

They look a little worse for wear to me.

If you get second hand try and get a stainless steel set, as mild steel does rust over time. If you purchase new mild steel, you can also get it ceramic coated like mine so they look chrome but it protects the headers from heat and corrosion. Shop around for prices, but i'd say Advance are your best bet. Great performance, great cost.
