Extractors for performance and rockers for reliability.

Edit: Rockers will improve performance if you have a ratio change. I was thinking in V8 mode only with original response.

If your looking for a guts from ur ecotec and dont have alot of money the best bang for your buck is to get a new or reco lsd diff centre and gear it up with 3.45 or if its a manual id go 3.7 i went the 3.45 and it makes more difference that the exhaust or rockers did.Plus u will love the lsd so much fun in the wet lol.

This is a simple question...

You need headers for the rockers to make any difference.

Stock exhaust manifold on an ecotec is retrictive enough on a stock engine. The rockers work by allowing more air in and more exhaust gases out each time the values open... which your stock manifold will struggle with and you will see minimal gains.

Higher diff grears are good... but once again... on a stock restricted engine... you won't see it's full potential.

The engine will run out of breath up top and because you're going to be reving harder more with the diff gears you're fuel economy will drop.

A full exhaust and intake would improve that economy a bit.

Hope that helps

I picked up some HM Headers as part of a group buy fairly cheap...

I think the headers and Y pipe set me back about500 odd... really can't tell you exactly... it was a while ago.

HM are a reputable brand and in most cases you can get a better price on them compared to Pacemakers... because pacemakers are so popular and therefore there is more demand for them...

Talk to Not_An_Abba_Fan, he will be able to give you some accurate recommendations and prices...

Good lcuk
