Extractors with no gaskets?

hey guys
i called an exhaust place today to get pacemakers fitted on my vr v6
and they said they dont put gaskets where the extractors connect to the head because they dont need it?
is this true.?
also some good exhuast shops in the western suburbs would be appreciated

any exhaust manifold needs a gasket as the 2 surfaces will not form a complete seal

vn never come with gaskets i tend to fit them with extractors but quality extractors dont need them if they have nice flat flanges
