Anyone ever had this problem registering their car online?? I dont normally & for the last 18mths I dont think I have done mine any other way. I have custom plates. My rego ran out yesterday. Before I went out last night I thought **** forgot to rego the car, ahwell Ill do it in the morn, Im not driving anyways. Well turns out that was very silly. Tried to rego when I got home, & found out I couldnt. It gave me an error, & then I thought, ah the plates! (In SA the custom plate rego has to be in front of the car rego) SO I tried to renew my plate rego first, got an error 'the vehicle is unregistered' (well duh!) So at 1am...... Im 1 hour too late to rego my car & now I cant rego plates or car! Because each one needs the other done first!! How silly is this?? Ring the number given on the screen this morn & its some lady who cant help me. Closed til monday, cant access computers til monday. So no car for me this weekend
yeah except Ive re-registered my car previously after the expiry date (sometime few days if i forget/not using it) with no dramas, hence why I did it again, not thinking there would be any problems! Ive just never had my plates close to expiring at the same time before. It just seems like a very silly system. I cant see the problem in re-newing the plates on an unreg car? They are getting money anyways? Im paying for the right to display, & at the moment they are still on display in my driveway on my unregistered car lol.
norti ya can reg car that have run ut and it will give you option to pay 15 bux or not also at 1am the site wont let you reg anyhting till 6am caus etit does its updates try again thisarvo
I tried at 10am. the problem lies not with either the rego being expired or with the plates due next month, but with the fact that both at the same time. So as I said, I cant rego my car because the plates are due next month, & therefore the system wont let you rego car unless plates are ahead of the rego. But cant rego plates now cus car rego expired yesterday. So Im going to need a real person to explain this to, so they can explain it to the computer however it is they do that.
if u need any help busting a few heads in down at the motor reg im always up 4 it. hows the day i went to pick up my car from the dealer, i get there and the bloke goes oh sorry mate i cant rego it today (friday) because ezyreg is having a redo of the system software and cant be done till moday, BUT monday was a public holiday so im waiting to tuesday to drive to bloody thing home. i cant believe out of all the bloody days i want to use the system is f*****d.
Just drive it, and if you get pulled over, tell them you payed it with a credit card. Then, on Monday, go in and rego it like normal. I had the same thing, my plates ran out before the 3 months would've, so i had to do the plates for 2 months to cover the rego.
It might be because of that new computer system they got from Perth. Nearly 3 months ago when i did mine the lady had trouble as I was getting rego and custom plates renewed as well and the system didnt like it... She said something about the new system not liking the plate and rego combination and some guy came over and fixed it up.
I'm not sure why so many people pay AFTER it is due and then complain/think up excuses! Just pay it like everyone else, before the due date!
Yeah I know for next time Turns out it is the new system, hence why Ive never had problems before. Its not like I didnt pay it, drive it, get caught & bitch about it. I wasnt bitching about the late bit, more so how silly the system is now.
