facotory imoblizer help needed

The factory immobilizer in vr ute i want to disconnect it permanently so no more trouble!!! and then fit after market alarm system due to the age of the ute and we have had afew problems with it,ilke to keep things simple and its my wife's dailey driver its about to get custom paint and panel

ican take it to auto barn and they wil charge $300 to disable mobilizer permanently iam fairly handy at electrics and trying to save $$$$ to put good quilty after market alarm in it

If it's the same as the VS, then :

The BCM disables earth to the starter relay, so what you can do is wire the earth wire for the starter relay
to constant power, if you do this at the starter relay itself it will bypass the Neutral Starter Switch, and that could be dangerous.
So to keep the neutral starter switch function, you must find the wire at the BCM by using a multimeter to test continuity for the earth
wire for the starter solenoid, with one prong on the starter solenoid earth wire (Should be Grey), and other prong to test all the wires going to the BCM.
Once you find the wire at the BCM Plugs, Just connect it to constant earth.

The second thing you must do is get somebody who knows how to, to disable the VATS routine on your ECU.

Thanx for that do you no any one in brisbane or logan city can thcan disable the vats at a reasonable price !!!

The cheapest quickest and most reliable way to do what you want is to go to a wrecker and buy a BCM with the key - they usually go for around $100 and if you install a higher BCM you can then have electric windows etc if you want. You then detach the metal key from your old keyhead and put it on the new keyhead......then it fits the ignition and door keyholes.
