Most modern cars do this, especially when the car is hot be it because of the climate or being given the berries. In fact, some cars will even turn on the fan when the car is locked just to ensure things aren't getting too hot & bothered.

Being winter, unless you've been driving it hard & not allowing it some cool down driving / idling before shutting it down, it does seem a bit out of place.

None if the cars I've ever owned have done this.

My mates Saab 900 used to do this and I would always give him shtick for it because I'd never seen another car do it. It was a bit of an old heap and he hated me poking fun at it. It only had a heater aswell, no cooling. I always said that was a good feature for the Australian climate lol.
