yep same issue now and then.

Whack the dash to get it going.

There is an article in the VN section that outlines the issue - seems to be more prelevant in the VN- its an issue that is fixed with soldering. I havent done it but I assume its the same for the VR/VS

Good ol' hit on top of the dash does it for me. Had this problem for a while, find it helps if i keep my fuel level above the quarter full mark, doesn't seem to do it as often. Now it's just something i put up with.

It can be something as simple as the needles sticking to the pins that they rest on. I had to whack mine to get them going and took the front off and noticed the needles were actually sticking to the pins so I cleaned the pins and havent had a problem since.

common holden problem, normally means the removal of the instrument cluster and re-soldering the joints on the back of the gauge. have alook throught VN-VP section for an "How-to"

edit: this is commonly reffered to as the Holden handshake (slapping the dash after starting the car etc)
