cons and pros of fe2 suspension? like how low do it make the car dos it make it handle any stiffer ? or is it just standard springs but lower? and do i need to change front shocks? (as i have standard front shocks but are new)

also does king springs from a vn/vp fit vs? (front)

    cheers

FE2 is a good set up to have,it only sits a tad lower than standard and gives the car a much sportier feel. Its not the greatest sports suspension on the market but still heaps better than stock.Front shocks along with everything else will have to be changed to FE2not just bits and pieces
The king springs will fit BUT dont put them on unless you have special shocks to suite the lower king springs

Yeah the FE2 is barely lower then stock, it's a lot stiffer though, you will need springs and shocks, plus you will need to go over all of your bushes and ensure they are up to scratch, new strut top rubbers (bearing locaters) and new strut bearings should be bought while your at it, avoid the kelpro strut top rubbers as they are effing soft, they do make parts, just not this one.

I had kings lowered standard duty springs with monroe shocks and changed to fe2 with boge struts to try to get the ride a tad softer(it worked). The actual thickness of wire in the spring is thicker slightly on the fe2 over the kings standard duty one. fe2 dont have the tapering near the top like the kings....the kings were coil bound anyway at normal ride height...dont know what the thinking was behind that. I used standard height shocks on the kings...never had any coil capturing problems..but used boge with fe2 spec.
FE2 Rear is not what you expect ......softer and a tendency to bottom out when there are a few people in the back...maybe to induce understeer....I think the swaybar is thinner too.

    sweet cheers guys

i was told i could use the standard front shocks but the rears i would have to change.....(was told buy holden wrecker) dunno but ....as for the rest of the fe2 setup....so i will need the stabaliser bar etc? didn't think i would but yeh.

so i need teh shocks sprngs stabaliser bar (can i use teh one that is on there now?)

also the vn king springs are the same as vs? i also was told no about this BUT can see why they wont

to be honest i may decide to lower it on king springs ...dont wanna go lowwwwww though i just was it not to look like a 4WD lol and handle a tad bit better

    cheers:thumbsup:

You dont need different shocks for fe2 you dont need a different stadilizer bar or even a different panhard rod.
Vn rear springs will fit a live axle vs fronts will not they will have to be from a vr onwards

free length ,actual wire size of spring, spring rate.
Stabiliser bar can be left the same (I didnt change it) but in factory fe2 suspension the sway bar thickness is less. I did use a adjustable panhard rod as apart from any differences you can adjust out created from lowering the car ,the bend in it stops the tail pipe hitting as it is very close to the factory one.
