i thought the first post by greenfoam had the times? or they all incorrect? 13.9 was the quoted time for the VZ. What did u think they ran?

Just curious, do you believe everything you read?

Im out of this topc, pointless arguing with people who have never owned such cars.

Standing 400 metres 13.99 seconds (SS) for the L76 6.0L.

But remember the argument was comparing it to the 5.7L Gen III SS

Remember the VY S1 Clubsport with the 260kw, 500NM 5.7L only pulled a 14.06 second quarter mile best time in Motor when they were searching for the best muscle car of the year. So a VZ S1 with 250kw, 470NM (weighs 48kg less) is going to struggle to pull a 14.1 second 1/4 mile.

Why are you so obsessed about how fast a SV5000 can run?, I know my 5 liter can run 14.7 anytime and I know a SV5000 is alot ALOT faster than my car, If I had the same cam and exhaust in my car id be pissed if it didn't run a low 14

The SV5000's figures are lacking in comparison to the VZ S1 SS... 150kg more for the VZ but also 50kw more and alot more torque...

I had a look at some figures on the net, and none of the times for the SV5000 were that impressive...

    Quoted Stats:
    See http://www.fantasycars.com/sedans/column/sedans5_hsvv.html

BUT I dont know. My hairdresser ran low mid 14's in his stock SV5000 so these figures seem off to me... But really thats all we are comparing...figures. The only way to really tell is to line both cars up on the drag strip and see who wins.

Spasm from Street Commodores has what I believe to be the fastest ever 1/4 mile for a "stock(ish)" 5 liter, 14.0 @ 98 mph. it had a 3 inch cat, 3 inch single exhuast, stock headers, stock motor. 16 degrees base timing and the BAYA group A memcal. It ran consistant 14.1's, also several other guys with completely stock manual 5 liters have run around 14.3. So if you want to run a 14 flat in a VN that's what you need to do. Although it would be a better idea to run a custom memcal and the stock 10 degree timing :) but hey it did the time

    Yes i OWN an SV5000.

Secondly, what facts and figures have you seen? You compared a 6.0 litre vz Ute. Mate, you have done nothing but lose all your arguments. I have no idea why you are so obsessed with it. A nice 304 with cam, rollers etc goes damn well when tuned to match it(as the SV is). I will try and find my old time slips to prove to you the times i ran with my SV5000 with only VL Turbo cats changed. :)
