Hello,

So I've recently had this whole big air con fkaround with NRMA motorserve where...actually, I don't even want to go over all of it again...I'll just say I would never recommend.

After 4 visits and around 6 labour charges they finally got it working again.

Though...maybe it's the heat or something...this seems like a seperate issue.
I was driving a few days ago, and the air con just "turned off" while I was driving. I stopped the car, re-started it and then it came back on.

The only "mode" it works on is the one aimed towards the feet and the windscreen.
It stays there regardless of what I switch it to.
It will change from HOT to COLD.
Reverse cycle or whatever mode doesn't switch on or off.
Fan speed control still works.

I've tried doing the whole "undo the battery and leave for a while". Didn't work.

I did a bit of research that brought me here, and it seems like someone had a relatively similar issue. One answer that supposedly cleared it up was this:

"Try a reset, IGN on, hold the demist button for ten secs or till you hear the hvac flaps start moving."

Would this work in this case?
If so - what is "IGN on"?

Issue #2 - not as big but annoying and I'd like to fix it.
The window on the right passenger side will go down, but not up, from the centre control.
It will go up when I press the button on the door in question so the mechanism would appear to be intact.
So is this potentially a thing where I can replace a fuse somewhere, or?

Thanks in advance for any advice.
I'm just about done spending money on this right now.

Thanks, folks.

I tried the key/demister option - it worked.
Weird that the battery removal one didn't, but hey - it is what it is, and I'm thankful it worked.
So thank you for everyone who weighed in.

Thanks for the info on the power switch too.
