Hey boys i got a manual VS and when im drivin up to about 80 and slowin down i can feel a bit of a vibration when resting my hand on the stick...... for you blokes that have a manual, what does yours do???? is it normal? Also when i go to start it.... the crank is real slow then it will go.. i put the charger on the battery and it says its fine.... What could be makin it crank so slow? Then i was drivin it today and stalled it....... :embarrass ........ went to start it... and there was nothin there.... i sat for a few seconds took out the clutch put it in neutral and it struggled but started??? does anyone have any ideas what is goin on? is it just a crap battery??? i just bought it soooo i dunno
yer could be..... on the weekend i'll do some battery tests then if that isnt it i'll check power flow to the starter... and if thats ok i'll just put a new starter in.... $$$$$$$ ive had the car 4 days and already spent $300 on fuses and crap.... whoda thought owning a car wood cost so much????
I've had my VS S2 manual V6 for 8 1/2 years. Passed the $300 in non-scheduled maintenance costs earlier this year, i.e. took 8 years to spend $300. I would be inclined to think the battery was getting on. Did you test it under load? Sometimes they look great on low load test, but it only takes one dicky cell and they fall apart on a test under load. There is always a small vibration in the gear lever, but if it is more than that, I would expect the problem to be in the drive train or gearbox mounts.
yer i did all the tests on the battery today and it turns out that the earth lead connected to the engine was loose! Ive finally got the car all working and it sooooo awesome to drive! i love it!!!
