I have been told by someone that it is as it will crumple much more than the normal one and therefore reduce safety. Is this the case?

Also, if I did get one, how hard is it to repair should a stone hit, or anything bump the bonnet? Is it easy/cheap?

Thanks

Heard the same thing because they can cause more injuries when they shatter particularly with a pedestrian hit. can't confirm it though.

Shouldn't be any different to repair than a normal bonnet if it's just a basic stone chip.

Why would you want one anyway?

Fibreglass is legal, providing that the original hinges & locks are maintained, & the reinforcements are not comprimised.

Carbon Fibre is the material they are more worried about for splittering rather than fibreglass.

just remember if you have an accident, duck,
or you might get your head cut of with big piece of the fibreglass bonnet coming through your windscreen:thumbsup:

This Place apparently sells *street legal* bonnets that have been approved in their state, dunno how different the rules could be in your state...

Check with your insurance company, some wont insure fibreglass panels with comp insurance
