Erm... wouldn't that end up being something like 600kw? (depending on the redline and curve profile) Either you're talking very seriously modded car, or you're reading the chart wrong!
No, my car has 337rwkw (445rwhp) and 900nm of torque at the flywheel. Torque and power dont have to be really close, torque should increase quicker than kw. Take a new F6 or GTS for exmaple, they have 317 and 310 (more like 345 but thats a different story) kw at the flywheel but have around 550nm of torque. so you take your average power loss over the drive terrain (22%) and you get around 247rwkw and 241rwkw respectively. Torque is twisting power (acttually drives your car) KW are just a measurment of power. Having a car with lots of power dosnt make it fast, torque is what you want...and traction When i get the car back ill post up the dyno for you to have a squiz.
At the drags the other night one of the very fastest cars was a V8 ba/f ute, dunno what was done to it but it was keeping up with a cammed LS1 in a VH and was faster than the cammed LS1s in VYs
haha thats quite a bit of overboost! well when she gets back give me a call, im thinking of charging the ute soon hey, or stroking, havent decided. will have to talk to you when we catch up.
Just to add, peak torque occurs at peak cylinder fill, meaning the more air and fuel you can jam into the cylinder and ignite, the more force that piston will have travelling down and rotating the crankshaft. Forced induction engines are a different kettle of fish, as there is an artificial atmosphere added, this forces even more air in to the cylinder, then more fuel is injected, making more torque. Because of this and the ability for turbo engines to make boost at low rpm when matched to the engine well, they can make good torque at least until the boost runs out.
Stroke, then Blow (isnt that allways the way lol) yeh mate ill giv you a buzz saterday week when i get back.
I just got more info from my mate on this Ford... Turns out - this is funny how he funded the motor transplant.. He is slightly nuts.. He sold the Turbo 6 for it.
Yes he is nuts! if your going to sell a Xr6T why not just buy a VT SS, VX SS, VY SS, S1 VZ SS?? dosnt make sense.
I'm also thinking it was a fairmont but i need to ask him. Sounds like knowing these guys they love to do the weird thing.
