Have you seen immortality's setup?

http://forums.justcommodores.com.au/612581-post23.html

I think that is a great spot to mount it. It's best to have it orientated upside down, and make sure you use thread tape to ensure no leaks.

Make sure you post pics! Cheers

Is it supposed to be upside down or sideways. The filter comes off sideways from the engine but in immoralities pics its straight up and down....

aZk.

I think up-side down like immortality's is best. I think the filter would work most efficient that way, also the oil would not drain back into the motor when turned off, and it would build oil pressure quicker. I have seen them like that on a lot of stock motors (ls1?). It would sure make a lot less mess when removing not having oil spilling out everywhere when unscrewing it.

Yep thats right gen motors run them likw this and so do other motor nothing wrong with mounting like that remember its pressure fed so it doesnt really make a difference whtehr its on its side or not
