The thrash to get it done was cool and as always with Road Kill, better late than never. Epic road trip indeed. Slicks in the rain and trying to road tune it along the way.

Yea but then they changed the engine and I thought they went auto?

Yes and no, always been a Hemi but it went from n/a to blown and it blew up a time or 3. Trans started off as a T56 than went G Force 5 speed so they could bang shift it. Never did they entertain the idea of an auto, it was always built as a Gasser to race in Drag Week.

Manual drags are my favourite like pro stock.

That big block chev is a Sonny Leonard engine. There's a behind the scenes walk through at Sonny's shop on youtube well worth the look. I'll try and find it.

And people think Tony Knight is the king of engines.

Different league. Life in the US is WAY DIFFERENT and they can do things much cheaper than we can.

TK is a legend in the Aussie market but best not compare it to the US because you simply can't.

Finnegan has a Sonny engine in his boat. The C10 has a LT4 with a trick sequencial 6 speed box behind it. His new built will have another Sonny engine in it if IIRC.

We're catching up here though. Like CHI and Higgins ect are making parts that sell in the US. Castlemain Rod Shop is getting popular over there too. Steve Morris also has a Jake's Performance sticker on his dyno cell window.

TK is very good I'm just merly pointing out there's other engine builders out there that know their **** like John Kasse.

This side of the globe we will never compete price wise with the US they simply have to much market scale to play with.

Ingenuity and know how, well that is a different kettle of fish.

Yep aussies had to make do with whatever they had using their noggins.

Early days of red 308's long before efi heads lots of dudes thought whatever was done to a chev worked on the plastic...lots of money wasted for ordinary results untill drag racers & engine builders experimented untill what worked to make power THEN when started making decent power had to learn how to stop them grenading from oil issues or blowing head gaskets.

Technology & ingenuity made the plastic into what diehards loved...now it's all ls watch youtube/faceballs buy part slap it on.

If talking seppo's Smokey Yunick folklore was way better

Anyways back on topic DEUCE got himself an unexpected shelf/wall decoration which is what counts.

Yup. That is a piece of Drag Week/Youtube automotive history.

Looking forward to Rocky mountain Race Week and 2.0, there are some amazing builds in progress.
